Privacy Policy

Matters ("the app") is operated by Hannes Hennerbichler ("we"). This policy explains what data the app touches and what happens to it.
What we access
With your permission through Google sign-in, the app accesses your Gmail (read, draft and send, label), your Google Calendar (read, and create or edit events) and your Google Drive files (read only). You can revoke this at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
What we store, and where
- On our server (Cloudflare Workers, EU/US edge): your Google refresh token, encrypted at rest; the sender, subject, date and a short text excerpt of each new mail, kept only until your iPhone has judged it (normally minutes), then deleted; and for mail judged important, a two-sentence summary, the sender, subject and any deadline, so your chat history survives a reinstall.
- On your iPhone: the same summaries, cached for offline use.
Mail bodies, calendar data and documents used to answer your questions are fetched by your iPhone directly from Google and are processed on the device. They are not uploaded to our server and not sent to any third-party AI service.
How we use it
Only to provide the app's features: deciding which mail needs you, summarising it, answering your questions, and preparing drafts or events that you confirm. We do not use your data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not share it with anyone except the infrastructure providers named above.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Matters' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Deleting your data
Disconnecting an inbox in the app deletes its token, pending excerpts and summaries from our server immediately. Deleting the app removes everything on the phone. You can also email mail@hanneshennerbichler.de and we delete all data linked to your install within 7 days.
